Organizational Profile: Hope for Vulnerable Community Development Organization (HVCDO)
Hope for Vulnerable Community Development Organization (HVCDO) is a newly established non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Southern Ethiopia. Founded in December 2024 by a group of committed Ethiopian professionals, HVCDO is dedicated to improving the living conditions of vulnerable and marginalized communities. The organization promotes community empowerment and sustainable development as pathways to reduce poverty and build long-term resilience.
HVCDO is legally registered with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) Authority for Civil Society Organizations. It is governed by a Board of Management composed of highly qualified and experienced professionals from diverse disciplines. Strategic leadership and operational coordination are overseen by a General Manager.
The organization works across multiple thematic areas, including agriculture, health, water and sanitation, savings and financial inclusion, rural energy, education, natural resource management, income generation, child protection, women’s empowerment, youth employment, and entrepreneurship. All programs are particularly focused on addressing the needs of disadvantaged and underserved populations—especially those experiencing poverty and social exclusion.
